Sayyid Fahd pointed out that the Sultanate’s constant stance aligns with Arab solidarity and ensuing initiatives to reach fair and lasting solutions that end the existing conflict in that region to pave the way for reconstruction that is greatly needed by present and future generations.

According to the source, both Palestine and the Arab countries agreed not to include a clear condemnation of the UAE-Israel deal, he said. The diplomatic source said some Arab states, however, attempted to add some provisions to give a form of legitimacy to the normalization deal. He did not name these countries. “In response, Palestine presented a draft resolution that condemns the UAE-Israel normalization deal,” the source said. “The Arab countries, however, voted down the draft,” he added.

(Bloomberg) -- Oman’s government is planning to tap international and local debt markets this year as it seeks to plug the widest budget deficit among Gulf Arab economies.The sultanate, rated junk by the three major rating companies, hired Bank Muscat for a local-currency Islamic bond offering, according to the Finance Ministry. The sale will target local and small investors through a book-building process, it said in a statement on Wednesday. ...The Finance Ministry said it “is working to complete its funding plan, which includes an international bond and sukuk offering to fund the remainder of its needs this year.”

During the telephonic conversation, His Majesty and President Trump reviewed strong relations between their two friendly countries in various spheres. They also exchanged views about ongoing developments in the region. The US President expressed his deep appreciation for the cooperation extended by the Sultanate in different fields.

Trump thanked the Omani leader for his statements of support following a US-brokered agreement by the UAE and Israel to normalise relations, the White House said. "President Trump highlighted the importance of the United States-brokered Abraham Accords announced on August 13th and thanked the Sultan for Oman's comments in support of the Israel-United Arab Emirates deal," the statement said.
