 BEIRUT: A Lebanese security official says Lebanon has mediated with Syrian authorities to release an American citizen and has handed him over to his family. The official says the released citizen is not Austin Tice, a journalist kidnapped in Syria in 2012 and they did not reveal the name of the released American. The Lebanese security official says mediation was conducted by Lebanon's General Security chief, Abbas Ibrahim.

Se si tratta del turista trattenuto in Maggio a Qamishli, in fondo è un'operazione di routine per Abbas Ibrahim. Rimane comunque un'altro dei suoi colpi da maestro.
A mio parere per Austin Tice ci dovrebbero essere ancora speranze se è vivo.
Ci sono diversi interessi da far convergere. Il che rende l'operazione di non facile amministrazione.
