Al Jazeera takes disciplinary action and suspends two of its journalists over violation of its editorial guidelines
...Dr. Yaser Bishr, Executive Director of Digital Division, stated that Al Jazeera completely disowns the offensive content in question and reiterated that Al Jazeera would not tolerate such material on any of the Network’s platforms. In an email to staff he also called for the mandatory bias training and awareness program. Dima Khatib, Managing Director of AJ+ Channels, said that the video was produced without the due oversight. She added that workflows are being reviewed to make sure all production goes through the proper editorial channels at all times, and called on all AJ+ editors and journalists to comply with the Network’s editorial values and Code of Ethics.

La narrazione di Al Jazeera viene pianificata in base al pubblico e all'obiettivo.
Il canale inglese promuove l'immagine del Qatar moderno e moderato bene inserito nel contesto internazionale. Si tratta di uno strumento pensato per favorire interessi e ambiti di collaborazione del governo del Qatar in Occidente principalmente.
Il canale in lingua araba è da sempre allineato al sentimento della popolazione in medio-oriente. Tende a creare empatia e anche ad orientare le masse. E' una mossa necessaria per rendere più agevole l'inserimento del Qatar nelle dinamiche politiche interne delle zone d'interesse.
La retorica usata nel video dalla giornalista, sugli ebrei che in fondo sarebbero solo una parte delle vittime dell'Olocausto, è un classico delle tecniche che Al Jazeera da sempre usa per risvegliare certi sentimenti e per presentare il Qatar come vero paladino delle popolazioni medio-orientali rispetto alle altre monarchie dell'area.
In un'epoca fortemente caratterizzata dalla disputa del Golfo, il prodotto televisivo proposto questa volta non è sfuggito all'attenzione e si è ben prestato alla strumentalizzazione politica.
