Happiest nation

(S/NF) Ambassador happened to be at a social event with Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed's media advisor when the story broke, and he drew the latter's attention to it. Fu divertente il giorno dell'inaugurazione del Burj Khalifa.
Fino a metà pomeriggio si sapeva che il nome stabilito era Burj Dubai.
L'intero tam tam promozionale era stato impostato con quel titolo.
All'improvviso verso le cinque anche a Muscat arrivò la voce del cambio imposto da Abu Dhabi. La cosa provocò grande ilarità.
Gli omaniti soffrono di una specie di complesso di inferiorità nei confronti degli emiratini.
Per cultura e tradizioni la loro vita è orientata in maniera completamente diversa e ne sono felici. Ma il confronto sul piano finanziario è inevitabile tra i Paesi del Golfo.
Molti in quell'occasione gioirono.
Era stato Mohammed bin Zayed a reclamare il nome per il grattacielo.
L'umiliazione lo esalta.
Abu Dhabi aveva sottratto Dubai ad un fallimento dal quale molto difficilmente gli Al Makhtoum avrebbero potuto salvare la propria gente. Giravano notizie di somme stratosferiche. Abu Dhabi poteva pretendere quello e altro.
Ci saranno anche militari capaci di ragionare con una sensibilità diversa e a più ampio respiro.
Ma MbZ non va oltre quello stereotipo. La sua ragione di vita è il dominio su tutto e tutti.
Senza limiti e a qualsiasi costo.
Mohammed bin Rashid è sempre stato costretto a subirlo, anche perchè è di indole nettamente differente. Determinato anche lui nel perseguire i propri obiettivi, ma pràtico. Sa che per fare vivere in pace Dubai deve vivere in pace con Mohammed bin Zayed.
La disputa del Golfo è poca cosa rispetto a quanto potrebbe accadere in futuro.
