Across Europe, this multilayered approach of Ankara has now increased: tracking dissidents, using intelligence agencies, carrying out renditions, attempting local prosecutions, activating local far-right activists, use of soft-power media such as the state TRT broadcaster, refugee threats and NATO leverage, along with detaining members of Western embassies in Turkey and constantly insulting European countries by calling them “Nazis.” Frantzman JPost

To date, the Partiya Karkerên Kurdistanê (PKK, ‘Kurdistan Workers’ Party’) has not carried out any terrorist attack on EU soil but remains active in propaganda, recruitment and providing logistical support to its members. The group also organised rallies and demonstrations in Europe concerning Kurdish-related issues, most of which are peaceful. Members and sympathisers of the PKK continued to be involved in legal and illegal activities to raise funds in order to support the group and its affiliates. The main source of revenue appeared to be the annual fundraising campaign (kampanya) and cultural events. Legitimate businesses were also used. For example, law enforcement in Germany shut down two companies suspected of being part of PKK organisational and financial structures across Europe. Sweden and Turkey reported that the group is also involved in serious and organised criminal activities.

A Bandar bin Sultan venivano declinate ragioni analoghe, quando si negava l'accesso a soggetti che per i Paesi europei erano dissidenti piuttosto che affiliati ad Al Qaeda. All'epoca si aveva poca familiarità sia con il terrorismo che con la galassia saudita.
Oggi forse le ramificazioni del PKK vengono considerate un mezzo per contrastare la Turchia di Erdogan. Nel frattempo i reati connessi al fenomeno aumentano.
Si è creato anche un meccanismo che vede la Turchia stringere accordi di tipo giudiziario, nei Balcani e nel nord Europa, in grado di garantire il recupero legittimo di frange eversive e terroristiche. In altri contesti europei entrano in gioco movimenti che operano nell'ombra e creano disagi anche al di fuori delle comunità turche.
La ricerca di un rapporto bilanciato con Erdogan, così come esiste in qualche modo tra il governo turco e amministrazione/congresso in America, potrebbe aiutare a sanare diverse problematiche.
L'operazione di demolizione messa in piedi sulla stampa israeliana nelle ultime settimane sembra orientata a dare man forte all'alleato emiratino in cerca di una soluzione alternativa allo scontro diretto in libia.
