Friends of Mr Johnson are insisting that nothing has changed in the relationship between the couple after they were recorded arguing loudly by neighbours.
They said Mr Johnson still plans to marry Ms Symonds when his divorce to his second wife Marina Wheeler is finalised. The Telegraph
A pal said: "There has been so much nonsense touted around about their relationship. The truth is that they love each other very much and want to get married as soon as the time is right.
"Boris only has eyes for Carrie and she is totally smitten with him. The age gap is irrelevant. It just works.
"Any suggestion otherwise is just people causing trouble". The Sun
Sources from the Boris Johnson campaign say the argument was started after the leadership candidate spilt red wine on Carrie’s favourite cream cushioned sofa, but the row had died down by the time Police were called and no action was taken by officers.
Another pal said that one previous argument had been caused because Mr Johnson had returned home from a night out later than expected. Express
