A young Manhattan real-estate entrepreneur named Donald Trump was being interviewed by gossip columnist Rona Barrett when he suddenly swivelled from discussing the interior decor of his new tower to the hostage crisis.
America should already have invaded Iran, said Trump. That would have been the easiest victory we would ever have won. A successful take over of Iran, he said, would make America not just respected but oil rich.
